Quick Summary:

One snowy evening on his way home Nasa Yuzaki comes across the most breathtaking girl hes ever seen and its love at first sight. Determined to know who she is and confess his love, he runs across the street only to be hit by a bus. The girl, Tsukasa Tsukuyomi, runs and pushes him away taking most of the blunt of the hit ultimately saving Nasa’s life. As she walks away, Nasa finds the strength to get up and run after her despite his injuries. He confesses his love and asks her to be his girlfriend. Tsukasa says yes but only if Nasa marries her in which he confidently replies that he will. Thus, is the start of their married life together.

My Thoughts:

The premise of the story was an interesting one but it just wasn’t for me. I was hoping we would be able to see more of who Tsukasa was and her history. In the first couple of episodes Tsukasa says she married Nasa because she loves him but it doesn’t completely feel like the truth. The emotion behind her reply is too neutral and not like someone who just admitted to being in love with her partner. However, after the accident we were able to see how Nasa never got over Tsukasa and would always search for her every where he went. So when he says he loves her the emotion is there and I believe it. I cant help but to think that Tsukasa had another motive or that she might just be running away from something.

Chitose and her maids are another part of Tsukasa’s background that’s also a mystery. In the anime they just imply that Chitose is really close to Tsukasa and most likely sees her like an older sister but they’re not related at all. It was frustrating to see Chitose refuse Tsukasas and Nasas marriage because its not explained why shes so adamant against it. I understand Tsukasa and Chitose are very close and it sucks to have that person move on but there’s a deeper reason and its something that I don’t think they explained.

So who is Tsukasa? Why was she living with Chitose and what is their actual relationship? They never say.

In regards to Nasa, I don’t have much to say about him. I like his character and think he is the ideal husband Tsukasa was probably looking for. The only thing I wished was explained better was Nasas occupation. In the first episode Nasa mentions how he works more than whats necessary and saves up a whole lot. Kaname also tells Tsukasa how Nasa saved their business by coming up with inventions and figuring out their spending budget etc. There is one episode were we see Tsukasa going to work and hes sitting on a computer wearing some type of apron but its not clear what he was doing. The only reason why I mention anything about hims occupation is because Tsukasa and Nasa spend a lot of money throughout the anime. They pay every time they go to the bathhouse, rent, groceries, insurance, etc. and it just makes me wonder how they can afford it. Nasa must be getting paid real good money otherwise they would be completely broke LOL.

In conclusion,

No, I didn’t really like the anime. I think its a good choice if you’re bored and just want to watch something light to fill your time but otherwise I wouldn’t recommend it. I thought the ending was horrible and left me confused and unsatisfied. There are too many holes in the story and I wished they could’ve made it into a 24 episode anime instead of 12. I think the best way to enjoy this anime would be to read the manga first otherwise you might just feel a little lost like I did. Although, I read somewhere that the manga is just as bad. Season one of the anime is just 80 chapters of the manga (that’s a lot IMO!).

My Rating:

If you saw the anime let me know what you thought. I still cant believe this was in the top 10 anime for fall 2020. Also, if you read the manga I would love to know how it compares to the anime.
